Further Information:
Feeds on large flowers such as the Greater Snapdragon or Bear's breech (Acanthus mollis) as shown in the photo. Bores into dead wood, often nesting in Giant reed stalks or pre-dug channels in deadwood. A strong flier with loud buzzing sound.
